2026 State of Mobile is Live!

In the second quarter of 2025, the Android gaming scene in South Africa saw significant activity among top 3D realistic games. Here's a look at how the top five apps performed, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Call of Duty: Mobile Season 8 from Activision Publishing, Inc. experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $62.6K by the end of June. Weekly downloads surged to 19.6K during the same period, while active users climbed from 125K to 190K.
PUBG MOBILE by Level Infinite maintained steady revenue, with a slight dip in the middle of the quarter, ending at about $11.2K. Downloads increased significantly towards the end of June, reaching 13.7K, and active users rose from 49.6K to 59.5K.
Last Z: Survival Shooter from Florere Game saw a strong upward trend in revenue, peaking at $30.2K in late June. Downloads, however, fluctuated, ending the quarter with 4.6K. Active users consistently grew, reaching nearly 29.1K by the end of the quarter.
eFootball™ by KONAMI experienced varying revenue, ending at $12.5K. Downloads showed a positive trend, culminating in 17.5K at the end of June. The number of active users also increased, reaching 86.2K.
Finally, EA SPORTS FC™ Mobile Soccer by ELECTRONIC ARTS demonstrated a steady rise in revenue, peaking at $10.5K towards the end of the quarter. Downloads surged to 27.7K, and active users grew significantly, reaching 432.9K.
