In the second quarter of 2025, the performance of health and fitness applications on the Android platform in South Africa showcased intriguing trends. Here’s a closer look at the top five apps based on data from Sensor Tower.
Blood Sugar - Blood Pressure by FeaturedApp saw a steady rise in weekly revenue, peaking at around $33 in early June. Weekly downloads fluctuated, with a notable peak at approximately 23K in early May. Active users showed consistent growth, reaching over 53K by the end of the quarter.
AllTrails: Hike, Bike & Run maintained a stable weekly revenue, hovering around $1.3K. The app experienced a decline in downloads from 19K in mid-April to about 5.4K by late June. Active users peaked at over 90K in late April, followed by a decrease to around 39K by quarter-end.
Home Workout - No Equipment from Leap Fitness Group showed variability in weekly revenue, starting at $123 and ending at $69. Downloads started strong at 21K, dipped mid-quarter, and rebounded to about 7.7K. Active users grew steadily, reaching over 136K by the end of June.
Home Workout・Full Body Workout by Cards saw a modest revenue trend, with peaks reaching $28. Downloads were consistent, with a high of 11K in early June. Active user numbers increased, ending the quarter at over 62K.
Flo Ovulation & Period Tracker by Flo Health Inc. showed strong revenue performance, peaking at $5.5K in late May. Downloads rose sharply to over 11K by the end of June. The app maintained a high number of active users, consistently above 470K.
