2026 State of Mobile is Live!

In the second quarter of 2025, the top music and audio applications on the Android platform in the United States demonstrated varied performance trends based on data from Sensor Tower.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts saw a consistent rise in weekly revenue, peaking at around $1.9M by the end of June. Weekly downloads fluctuated, reaching a high of approximately 136K in early June, while the number of weekly active users hovered around 34M, with slight variations throughout the quarter.
Pandora - Music & Podcasts experienced a peak in weekly revenue of about $1.6M in late April. Downloads were highest in mid-April at around 84K, with active users maintaining a steady average of around 11M.
Pocket FM: Audio Series showed strong weekly revenue growth, culminating at just over $1M by the end of June. Downloads peaked in early May at roughly 86K, while active users increased steadily, reaching over 560K by the quarter's end.
Apple Music had a gradual increase in revenue, peaking at about $300K in late June. Weekly downloads were highest in late May at 56K, and active users averaged around 1.1M throughout the quarter.
Finally, SoundCloud: The Music You Love saw modest revenue increases, ending the quarter at approximately $145K. Downloads and active users showed some fluctuation, with the highest download count at 40K in early April and active users averaging around 2.2M.
