In the second quarter of 2025, the performance of the top air travel apps in the United States showed significant trends in downloads and active users. Here's a closer look at how each app fared based on Sensor Tower data.
American Airlines experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 157K in early April and peaking at approximately 186K by mid-June. Active users also saw a rise, beginning at 3.6M and reaching a high of 4.4M in early June before settling at 3.8M by the end of the quarter.
Fly Delta maintained a steady download rate with a slight increase from 141K to 185K throughout the quarter. Active users fluctuated, peaking at 4.2M in mid-May before ending the quarter at 3.4M.
United Airlines showed a consistent rise in downloads from 134K to 177K. The active user base demonstrated some volatility, with a peak of 4M in late June.
Southwest Airlines: Travel App saw a gradual increase in downloads, starting at 125K and reaching 141K by mid-June. Active users peaked impressively at 5.3M in early June.
Finally, Frontier Airlines downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating slightly around 115K. Active users rose from 864K to a peak of 889K in late June.
