During the second quarter of 2025, the top communication apps in Ecuador showed varied performance trends across weekly downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.
WhatsApp Messenger experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 37.3K and reaching around 51.7K by the end of June. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 12.6M throughout the quarter. Revenue was modest, peaking at around $5 in mid-April.
Telegram saw consistent weekly downloads, with numbers ranging from 48.6K to 55.5K. Revenue showed a slight upward trend, peaking at $4.5K in the final week of June. Active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter with about 3.9M.
Messenger maintained a steady download rate, averaging around 39K per week. Active users showcased a minor decline, starting at 4.9M and dipping to 4.8M by the quarter's end.
WhatsApp Business demonstrated a consistent download pattern, with numbers increasing from 33.7K to 39.5K. Revenue showed variability, peaking at $1.7K mid-June. Active users saw a rise towards the end of the quarter, reaching approximately 3.1M.
Lastly, CallApp: Caller ID & Block had a notable increase in downloads, climbing from 24.9K to 38.4K. Active users grew steadily, peaking at 1.3M in early June, while revenue remained stable, around $500 weekly.
