In the second quarter of 2025, the top consumer finance apps in Central America demonstrated varied performance trends on the unified platform. Here's a closer look at the key metrics for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Banco del Bienestar Movil showed a notable decline in weekly downloads, starting strong at 936K in early April and tapering off to 134K by the end of June. Despite this, weekly active users maintained a robust presence, peaking at 9.3M in early June.
Openbank México experienced an increase in weekly downloads, reaching 413K in mid-April before stabilizing around 135K towards the end of the quarter. Active users grew consistently, ending the quarter at approximately 576K.
BBVA México maintained steady weekly downloads, hovering around 180K to 200K throughout the quarter. Active users fluctuated slightly but remained strong, closing the quarter with over 21.5M users.
Nu saw consistent download numbers, starting at 154K and ending at 158K. Active users increased steadily, reaching nearly 8.9M by the end of June.
Finally, Banco Azteca experienced stable weekly downloads, with a slight increase from 133K to 137K. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, concluding at around 7.5M.
