In the second quarter of 2025, the performance of the top lifestyle applications in New Zealand showcased some intriguing trends. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared.
Z App, published by Z Energy, experienced a fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 14.8K at the end of March and peaking at around 16.7K in late April. The downloads gradually declined, ending at about 7.7K by the end of June. Active users remained robust, increasing from 114.5K to a peak of 138.1K, before settling at 135.7K.
Pinterest maintained a steady download rate, with minor fluctuations around 3.8K to 4.4K. The app's active user base showed resilience, increasing from 218.2K to 242.4K over the quarter.
Trade Me: Property, Jobs, Shop saw a consistent download performance, fluctuating between 5.6K and 6.6K. Active users showed a healthy increase, starting from 611.7K and reaching 704.8K by the end of June.
Google Home downloads ranged from 2.4K to 3.7K, with a noticeable peak in April. The active user count displayed a steady rise, peaking at 195K before slightly tapering off to 180.7K.
Finally, Costco Wholesale New Zealand showed a moderate download trend, from 1.8K to 2.8K, while active users increased from 13.9K to 15.7K by the end of the quarter.
