In the second quarter of 2025, the top music and podcasts applications in Germany showed varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. These insights are based on data from Sensor Tower.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts experienced an increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $426K in late April. Weekly downloads remained stable, averaging around 65K, while weekly active users fluctuated slightly, maintaining an average of 16.7M.
Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts saw a consistent weekly revenue, reaching up to $244K in late June. Downloads showed a significant rise towards the end of the quarter, peaking at over 30K, with active users hovering around 3.9M.
SoundCloud: The Music You Love had a steady revenue increase, closing the quarter with $184K. Downloads averaged 21K weekly, while active users saw a modest increase, ending at approximately 1.5M.
Deezer: Music Player, Podcast maintained a steady revenue stream, reaching $138K by the end of June. Downloads were consistent, with a slight peak in mid-April, while active users grew steadily to 1.8M.
YouTube Music showed stable revenue, ending the quarter at $124K. Weekly downloads remained around 16K, and active users increased slightly, reaching 3.6M by the end of June.
