In the second quarter of 2025, the top five news and magazine apps in the Netherlands showed varied performance across downloads, revenue, and active users. According to data from Sensor Tower, here are the insights:
X (Formerly Twitter) from X Corp. saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $22.7K by the end of June. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 9.1K in mid-June. Active users remained robust, averaging around 1.1M throughout the quarter.
NOS maintained a solid user base with active users consistently around 1.9M. The app experienced a significant surge in downloads, hitting a high of 16.2K in late June.
RTL Nieuws & Entertainment showed a slight increase in weekly revenue, stabilizing at about $616 by the end of the quarter. Downloads rose steadily, reaching 6K in late June, while active users averaged around 300K.
Upday | Local & World News had a remarkable increase in downloads, especially towards the end of June, peaking at 14.7K. Active users grew gradually, surpassing 12K by the quarter's end.
Teletekst experienced a decline in downloads after an initial spike, with numbers stabilizing around 700 weekly. Active users saw a downward trend but remained above 200K.
