In the second quarter of 2025, the top social apps in Nigeria showed varied performance across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at the trends from Sensor Tower's data.
Facebook Lite from Meta Platforms, Inc. saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 398K by the end of June. Its weekly active users fluctuated slightly but remained strong, averaging around 28M. Revenue also experienced a steady rise, reaching about $12.2K in the final week.
TikTok - Videos, Shop & LIVE maintained a robust presence with weekly downloads hovering around 274K by the end of the quarter. Weekly revenue showed a clear upward trend, culminating in $100.8K, while active users increased to over 20M.
Instagram experienced stable weekly downloads, averaging around 160K towards the end of June. Active users saw a gradual rise, reaching over 11.8M. Weekly revenue showed a slight increase, ending the quarter at $13.4K.
The Status Saver App, Video Saver had a decrease in weekly downloads from 54K to 26K. Active users peaked in early May at 47.2K before declining to 33.9K by the end of June. Revenue was minimal, with a slight peak at $305 in mid-June.
Finally, Status Saver - Video Saver maintained steady weekly downloads, ending June with approximately 48K. Active users fluctuated but ended strong at about 2.3M.
