In the third quarter of 2025, the top personal finance budgeting and planning applications on the Android platform in the United States exhibited varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Rocket Money - Bills & Budgets saw a consistent weekly revenue trend, peaking at around $57.7K in mid-August. The app's weekly downloads started strong at over 53K in early July but gradually decreased to about 40K by the end of September. Active users fluctuated, beginning at 1.65M and ending the quarter at 1.66M.
EveryDollar: Budget Management experienced a positive trend in weekly revenue, reaching $51.4K in mid-September. Downloads remained fairly stable, starting at 11.3K and slightly declining to 8.8K by late September. Active users saw an increase, rising from 235K to 281K over the quarter.
Monarch: Budget & Track Money had a significant rise in revenue in August, with a peak of $44.9K. Downloads peaked at 19K in early August before dropping to around 7K by the end of the quarter. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 150K.
YNAB maintained a steady revenue stream, staying around $35K throughout the quarter. Downloads were low, peaking at just over 2.5K in July. However, active users increased slightly from 192K to 210K by the end of September.
Quicken Simplifi: Budget Smart showed a gradual increase in revenue, reaching $12.9K in mid-August. Downloads stayed modest, peaking at 2.1K in mid-September. Active users increased steadily, ending the quarter at around 194K.
