The third quarter of 2025 witnessed interesting trends in the performance of the top books applications on iOS in the Netherlands. Let's dive into the data provided by Sensor Tower to understand these movements.
Fluister, developed by DPG Media Services, saw a notable increase in weekly downloads, especially mid-September. Downloads spiked dramatically from 466 in early September to a peak of about 25.9K by the week of September 22. Active users also showed a steady climb, starting at 26.2K at the end of June and reaching 42.1K by the end of September.
Storytel - Audiobooks Library from Storytel Sweden AB experienced a consistent weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $7.8K in early August. Downloads were highest at the beginning of the quarter with 3.2K and gradually declined towards the end of September. However, active users remained robust, maintaining around 144K by the end of the quarter.
MyBible recorded a decline in weekly downloads from 5.1K at the start of July to around 866 by the end of September. Despite the decrease in downloads, the app maintained its presence without active user data available.
Kobo Books & Audiobooks by Rakuten Kobo Inc. had a relatively stable trend in downloads, with figures starting at 1.6K and slightly dipping to around 886 by late September. Active users showed an upward trend, peaking at 44.2K mid-September before slightly declining towards the end of the quarter.
Lastly, Kobo via bol from bol.com showed a gradual decline in downloads from 1.9K in mid-July to 705 by the end of September. Active users fluctuated slightly but remained fairly steady, closing the quarter with about 56.5K.
