In the third quarter of 2025, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Ireland on the iOS platform demonstrated varied performance in downloads and active user engagement. According to data from Sensor Tower, here's a look at how these apps fared.
Uber - Request a ride saw a gradual decrease in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 5.9K at the beginning of the quarter and settling around 3.8K by the end. Meanwhile, weekly active users fluctuated, peaking at 96K in late July before declining to about 78K at the quarter's close.
Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a consistent decline in downloads, starting at 4.3K and dropping to 1.9K over the quarter. Active users initially decreased but then showed some recovery, ending at around 21.7K.
Freenow by Lyft - taxi & more maintained relatively steady download numbers, fluctuating between 2K and 3K. Active user engagement increased significantly, starting at 73.6K and reaching 81.9K by mid-September, before ending at 77.3K.
Grab: Taxi Ride, Food Delivery downloads started at 1.6K, declining to 649 by the end of September. However, active users remained stable, with minor fluctuations around the 50K mark throughout the quarter.
Lastly, Lyft downloads showed a downward trend, starting at 1K and decreasing to 273. Active users remained relatively stable, ranging from 6.5K to 6.1K.
