In the third quarter of 2025, the top air travel apps in the United States showed varied performance metrics, reflecting user engagement and download trends on a unified platform. Here's a closer look at the data provided by Sensor Tower.
American Airlines saw a decline in weekly downloads from approximately 186K in early July to 153K by the end of September. The weekly active users fluctuated, peaking at 4.3M in early July before settling around 4M by the end of the quarter.
United Airlines maintained a steady download pace, with numbers ranging from 185K to 128K over the quarter. Active users remained robust, peaking at 3.7M in August and closing the quarter with 3.5M.
Fly Delta experienced a decline in downloads, starting at 184K and falling to 133K by September end. However, active users increased, peaking at 4.5M in late September.
Southwest Airlines: Travel App showed a drop in downloads from 157K to 121K during the quarter. Despite this, active users peaked at 4.9M in early July, ending the quarter at 4.6M.
Frontier Airlines had stable download numbers, ranging from 125K to 97K. Active users peaked at 848K in late July but fluctuated throughout the quarter, ending at 726K.
