In the third quarter of 2025, the top books applications in Germany showed varied performance on a unified platform, with data provided by Sensor Tower.
Audible: Audiobooks & Podcasts saw a peak in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $537K by the end of September. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at around 24K in late July, while active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 3.5M.
Galatea: Books & Audiobooks experienced a decline in weekly revenue towards the end of the quarter, falling to about $39K. Downloads varied with a high of 4.4K in early July, and active users fluctuated, ending the quarter with approximately 57K users.
Storytel - Audiobooks Library showed an increase in weekly revenue, reaching $21.8K by the end of September. Downloads saw a significant drop from a peak of 6.9K in late July to just over 2.3K by the end of the quarter. Active users remained steady, closing at around 39.6K.
NovelaGo: Stories and novels had a downward trend in revenue, decreasing to $18.7K by the end of September. Downloads significantly declined from 1.9K at the start of the quarter to 766 by the end. However, active users saw a slight increase, ending at 11.2K.
Finally, Wattpad - Read & Write Stories experienced a steady decline in downloads from 8.6K in late July to 5.9K by the quarter's end. Revenue showed a slight dip, ending at $8.7K, while active users remained relatively stable, closing at approximately 289K.
