In the third quarter of 2025, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Germany showed varied performance trends across downloads and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared on a unified platform:
Uber - Request a ride maintained a consistent presence with weekly downloads fluctuating around 110K to 127K. The number of active users saw a peak towards the end of the quarter, reaching approximately 1.5M.
Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a gradual decline in downloads, starting at 54K and dropping to around 44K by the end of September. Active users also saw a slight decrease, ending the quarter at about 1M.
Freenow by Lyft - taxi & more had a stable download rate, hovering around 12K to 15K weekly. Active users, however, showed some volatility, ending the quarter at approximately 168K.
Grab: Taxi Ride, Food Delivery saw a gradual increase in downloads, peaking at about 10K in mid-August. Active users grew steadily, reaching a high of 57K in September.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus displayed a stable download pattern, remaining around 7K to 9K. Active user numbers showed resilience, maintaining over 200K throughout the quarter.
