In the third quarter of 2025, the carpooling and ridesharing market in Portugal saw notable activity across the top five apps. According to Sensor Tower data, these apps demonstrated varying trends in downloads and active user engagement on a unified platform.
Uber - Request a ride maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 12.3K and 18.7K. Notably, weekly active users rose from 878K to 896K by the end of the quarter, highlighting a solid user base.
Bolt: Request a Ride recorded download numbers ranging from 10.2K to 14.6K. Weekly active users also showed growth, peaking at approximately 905K in mid-September before settling at 832K.
The Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver app saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, reaching 3.8K by the end of September. Active users remained relatively stable, ending the quarter at around 26.6K.
Freenow by Lyft - taxi & more experienced modest download activity, with numbers hovering between 908 and 1.1K weekly. Active users declined over the quarter, from 7K to around 3.3K.
Finally, BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus saw downloads ranging from 798 to 1.0K, with active users peaking at 9.5K before decreasing to 5.1K.
