In the third quarter of 2025, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Sweden showcased diverse performance trends, as captured by Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at the top five apps on a unified platform:
Uber - Request a ride experienced a steady weekly download rate, starting at around 12.3K and peaking at 13K by the end of July. Active users fluctuated, beginning at approximately 199K and reaching a high of 233K in late August before settling around 188K at the end of September.
Bolt: Request a Ride maintained a consistent download pattern, averaging around 10K weekly. Active user numbers showed resilience, with a notable increase from 311K in early July to 320K in late August, concluding the quarter at around 296K.
Freenow by Lyft - taxi & more saw a decline in downloads, starting at 1K and dropping to 281 by the end of September. Active users decreased from 2.6K to 1.8K throughout the quarter.
Grab: Taxi Ride, Food Delivery downloads began at 1.2K and decreased significantly to around 503 by the end of September. Active users showed a minor decline, starting at 80.5K and ending the quarter at 69.2K.
Lastly, Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver downloads remained stable, hovering around 500 weekly. Active users saw a slight increase, starting at 8.1K and reaching 8.6K by the end of the quarter.
