In the third quarter of 2025, the performance of the top communication apps on a unified platform in the Middle East demonstrated intriguing trends. Here's a closer look at the weekly downloads, revenue, and active users for the leading apps, as reported by Sensor Tower.
Telegram experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $316K and peaking at $356K by early September. Downloads showed a significant rise mid-quarter, reaching around 322K in late August, while active users maintained a steady increase, peaking at about 28.9M in mid-September.
For imo-International Calls & Chat, weekly revenue began at $111K, showing a slight decline over the quarter, ending at approximately $96K. Downloads showed an upward trend, peaking at 272K in the last week of September. However, active users saw a gradual decrease, declining from 17.6M to 15.9M by the quarter's end.
Snapchat reported a significant revenue drop from $1.38M at the start of the quarter to around $1.13M in mid-September, before recovering to $1.46M by the end. Downloads peaked at 287K in late July, and active users remained stable around 24.6M throughout the quarter.
Azar: Video Chat, Meet Friends observed a decrease in weekly revenue, starting at $232K and ending at $228K. Downloads were relatively stable, peaking at 26K in late August, while active users increased from 47.9K to 61.9K by the end of September.
Lastly, WhatsApp Business showed a steady increase in revenue, starting at $56K and rising to $67K by the end of the quarter. Downloads peaked at around 267K in early August, with active users fluctuating slightly, ending at 18.3M.
