In the third quarter of 2025, the top health and fitness applications in South Africa showed varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users.
Home Workout for Women by SWIFTFLYERS had a notable start with weekly downloads peaking at around 26K in mid-July before steadily declining to approximately 3.6K by the end of September. Active users increased significantly from 6.5K to 34.3K by mid-August, before tapering to 21.9K.
Sweatcoin・Walking Step Counter from Sweatco Ltd experienced a consistent rise in weekly downloads, starting at 7K and reaching nearly 29K by the end of the quarter. Its weekly revenue showed a slight increase, ending the quarter at about $370, while active users fluctuated around 75K to 80K.
The Home Workout - No Equipment app by Leap Fitness Group saw downloads spike to 23K in early August and mid-September. Weekly revenue peaked at $673 towards the end of September, and active users remained relatively stable around 140K throughout the quarter.
WalkEarn - Steps to Cash by CoderSoftech had a gradual increase in downloads, peaking at 22K in early September. Active users saw fluctuations, starting from 3.6K and ending at 12.1K by the end of the quarter.
Finally, Flo Ovulation & Period Tracker by Flo Health Inc. maintained a strong revenue stream, starting at $12K and peaking at $14.3K. Downloads and active users saw some fluctuations, with downloads reaching as high as 16.4K and active users varying between 520K and 668K.
