In the third quarter of 2025, the insurance app market in Australia saw varying performance trends among the top applications. According to Sensor Tower data, each app demonstrated unique patterns in downloads and active user engagement.
myBupa from Bupa Australia Health Pty Ltd showed a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at 12.8K and decreasing to 9.6K by the end of the quarter. However, weekly active users remained relatively stable, peaking at 231.7K before ending at 182.3K.
My Medibank experienced fluctuations in downloads, beginning at 8.9K and dropping to 5.4K. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at 192.7K, dipping mid-quarter, and rising to 168.5K by September.
The AAMI App saw a notable increase in downloads towards the end of the quarter, reaching a high of 14.3K. Active users fluctuated, peaking mid-quarter at 79.7K before closing at 55.7K.
For nib, weekly downloads were steady, hovering around 4K to 5K. Active users remained consistent, with a slight increase from 43.9K to 46.5K.
Lastly, Hostplus downloads varied, ending the quarter at 5.8K. Active users showed growth, from 104.6K to 124.2K, indicating strong user retention.
