In the third quarter of 2025, the top travel and local apps in the United States experienced varied performance trends, as reflected by data from Sensor Tower.
earnify saw a fluctuating download pattern, starting at about 611K weekly downloads and dipping to 41.8K before climbing back to 169.6K by the end of September. Active users also showed a recovery, beginning at 1.19M, dropping to 385K, and then rising to approximately 467K.
Upside: Cash Back - Gas & Food maintained a relatively stable download rate, peaking at 152K and ending the quarter at 113K. Its active user base hovered around 5.1M at the start and concluded at 4.57M.
Expedia: Hotels, Flights, Cars downloads started at 231K, gradually decreasing to 161K. Active users followed a similar downward trend, beginning at 6.59M and ending at 5.8M.
Airbnb downloads started strong at 293K, with a slight decline to 216K by the end of the quarter. Its active user count began at 12.9M, peaking at 13.5M, and then decreased to 10.6M.
Booking.com: Hotels & Travel started with 205K downloads, dropping to 154K. Active users began at 5.87M, with fluctuations leading to an end-of-quarter figure of approximately 4.87M.
