In the fourth quarter of 2020, Australia's Android users showed a keen interest in dating apps, as evidenced by the performance data provided by Sensor Tower. Let's delve into the numbers of the top five dating applications.
Tinder Dating app. Meet People remained a popular choice with a consistent increase in revenue, ending the quarter with USD 75K in the last week of December. Downloads saw a peak of 6.6K in the same period, while weekly active users (WAUs) surged to 568K after a dip in November.
Hinge Dating App: Meet People also experienced a revenue boost, climbing to USD 27K by the end of December. Downloads spiked to 4.8K in the last week of the year, and WAUs rose to 106K, recovering from a slight decline earlier in the quarter.
The trend for Bumble: Dating App & Friends was similar, with revenue reaching USD 21K in the closing week of December. Downloads increased to 6.3K, and the app's WAUs saw a modest increase to 223K by the end of Q4.
Grindr - Gay chat also saw an uptick in revenue, finishing the quarter at USD 23K. The app's downloads rose to 1.2K, and the WAUs demonstrated a slight increase, ending at 13.6K.
Lastly, SKOUT - Meet, Chat, Go Live showed an impressive revenue spike in mid-December, reaching USD 32K, followed by a slight decline to USD 25K. Downloads saw a year-end bump to 747, and WAUs experienced a slight rise, concluding the quarter at 7.1K.
