The final quarter of 2020 brought interesting trends in the platformer games category on the Android platform in Europe. Data provided by Sensor Tower gives us a glimpse into how the top 5 games in this category fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.
Join Clash 3D by Supersonic Studios LTD showed a strong performance with downloads peaking at nearly 1M in the week of October 19th and weekly active users reaching a high of 3.58M in the last week of December. The revenue trend also saw an increase, with the game earning up to $781K in the last week of December.
Stair Run, published by VOODOO, had a significant spike in downloads in mid-October, crossing the 1M mark. However, the active user count saw a gradual decline, from a peak of 2M in the week of October 19th to 716K by the end of December.
The ever-popular Subway Surfers by SYBO Games maintained steady download numbers throughout the quarter, hovering around the 500K mark. Revenue for the game saw a peak of $24.6K in late October, while weekly active users consistently stayed above the 5.5M threshold.
Roof Rails, another VOODOO title released in late October, saw an impressive growth in downloads, reaching over 1.2M in the week of November 30th. Active users followed a similar trend, hitting a peak of 2.26M in the same period.
Lastly, Cube Surfer! also by VOODOO, experienced its highest downloads at 527K in the week of October 19th. The game's weekly active users showed a peak of 2.4M in late October, but this number saw a gradual decrease, ending the quarter at 1.74M.
