State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
As the year 2020 came to a close, the shopping app landscape in Latin America showed significant activity. Sensor Tower's data gives us a clear view of how the top Android shopping applications performed in the fourth quarter.
Mercado Libre: Compras online maintained strong weekly active users (WAUs) with a slight downward trend from 33.6M in the last week of September to 33.2M at the end of December. Downloads showed more fluctuation, peaking at 1.1M in early November and then declining to 780K by the year's end.
SHEIN-Shopping Online experienced a rise in active users, starting at 3.7M and growing to a high of 5.9M in early November before settling at 5M at the close of December. Downloads reflected a similar trend, with the highest at 1M in early November, but ended the quarter with 733K.
Shopee: 15.3 Dia do Consumidor saw a strong increase in both WAUs and downloads. Active users grew from 5.5M to 7M, with the highest spike in mid-December at 7.5M. Downloads also increased, peaking at 1.1M in mid-December before closing the quarter at 669K.
Wish: Shop and Save showed an interesting pattern with a substantial jump in downloads from 330K to 680K in early November, followed by a gradual decrease to 601K by December's end. Active users climbed to 6.4M in late November from 5.1M at the start of the quarter, eventually dropping to 5.4M.
Lastly, Amazon Shopping displayed a remarkable increase in weekly active users from 6M to 7.1M in late November, followed by a decrease to 6.7M as the quarter ended. Downloads reached their peak at 625K in early November, with a slight dip to 449K in the final week of December.
