Q4 2020 Performance of Top Android Tax Apps in the US

As the year 2020 came to a close, the Tax Preparation and Planning category saw notable activities on the Android platform in the United States. Sensor Tower's data provides us with insights into the performance of the top applications in this sector during the fourth quarter.

IRS2Go, published by the Internal Revenue Service, showed a remarkable surge in downloads, from 16K in the last week of September to an impressive 194K in the final week of December. Weekly active users also peaked at 1.8M by year-end, although the app generated no revenue.

Intuit Inc's TurboTax: File Your Tax Return experienced a fluctuating revenue trend, ending with about 16K USD in the last week of December. Downloads grew significantly from 4K to 61K in the same period, while active users reached 374K.

H&R Block's MyBlock saw a steady increase in downloads, culminating in 33K in the last week of December, and its weekly active users peaked at 54K, despite having no revenue.

Keeper by Keeper Tax, Inc. had modest revenue figures, with a slight increase to 60 USD in the final week of December. The app's downloads showed a gradual upward trend, ending at 3K, while active user data wasn't available.

Lastly, TaxCaster by TurboTax, another Intuit Inc application, did not generate revenue during this period. Nevertheless, downloads more than quadrupled from 577 to 2,820, and weekly active users rose to 4,615 by the end of the quarter.
