Sensor Tower Acquires Playliner to Expand Live Ops Intelligence Across Mobile Gaming

Sensor Tower is excited to announce the acquisition of Playliner, a leading provider of Live Ops data for top mobile games. This move strengthens our position as the go-to source for gaming intelligence, expanding our capabilities to track and analyze in-game events, monetization, and engagement strategies. As Live Ops continues to shape the future of mobile and non-gaming apps alike, this acquisition marks another step in our mission to deliver unmatched insights across the digital economy.

Playliner Acquisition

We’re thrilled to announce our acquisition of Playliner, a trusted source of data for Live Operations (Live Ops) within top mobile games. With this acquisition, Sensor Tower continues its commitment to deliver the most comprehensive and actionable gaming insights in the industry.

Live Ops is a meaningful driver of success for top mobile games, and has been a boon for evergreen titles such as Supercell's Clash of Clans and Microsoft/King's Candy Crush. As the gaming market reaches $250 Billion in consumer spend, evergreen games utilizing Live Ops comprise more than 50% of total consumer spending on in-app purchases — signaling a meaningful shift in how games generate long-term value.

Founded in Finland, Playliner tracks and analyzes Live Ops across top mobile titles, offering publishers detailed intelligence on event cadence, monetization tactics, and player engagement. Industry leaders including Applovin, Playtika, and Playrix trust Playliner and its product suite as an essential resource to optimize game performance and benchmark against the market.

Sensor Tower’s plans for Live Ops span more than just the gaming industry. As more non-gaming apps, especially those in entertainment and e-commerce, apply live operations and events to drive engagement and monetization opportunities, there is potential to provide Live Ops metrics to a broader universe of apps.

This acquisition follows Sensor Tower’s recent acquisition of PC/Console data provider Video Game Insights. Read the full press release here.
