As the year 2020 came to a close, city building games continued to entertain and engage users across Latin America. Sensor Tower's latest data provides a snapshot of how the top five games in this category performed during the fourth quarter.
The Simpsons™: Tapped Out saw a notable peak in revenue during mid-November, reaching around $30K, with a following dip to about $6K by year's end. Downloads remained strong with an average of around 60K per week, and weekly active users hovered around the 500K mark, showing a slight decline towards the end of the quarter.
My Town - City Life Story game, while showing modest revenue figures, experienced a surge in downloads in December, peaking at over 60K. Active users mirrored this trend, with a peak of over 70K in late December.
SimCity BuildIt demonstrated consistent performance with a steady increase in revenue, culminating in nearly $25K during the last week of December. Downloads showed a healthy increase, especially in December, reaching over 40K. Weekly active users experienced a rise towards the end of the quarter, reaching over 510K in early December.
Idle Light City presented an interesting pattern with a significant spike in downloads and active users in late November, with downloads reaching over 76K and active users exceeding 130K. However, this trend reversed in December, ending the quarter with around 17K downloads and approximately 40K active users.
Megapolis: City Building Sim maintained a steady revenue throughout the quarter, with a slight increase to just over $2K towards the year's end. The game's downloads remained fairly consistent, averaging around 23K per week, and weekly active users saw a slight increase, ending the quarter with over 23K.
