As the year 2020 came to a close, the dog game category on mobile platforms witnessed varying trends across top-performing apps in Europe. Here we dive into the performance of the five leading dog-themed games according to data provided by Sensor Tower.
Puppy Town - Merge & Win, despite generating zero revenue, saw a significant number of downloads, starting at 300 thousand in the last week of September and winding down to 100 thousand by the end of December. Weekly active users followed a similar downward trend from 600 thousand to 300 thousand in the same period.
My Talking Hank from Outfit7 Limited demonstrated a more stable pattern. Revenue hovered around 1 thousand each week throughout the quarter, while downloads saw a gradual increase from 80 thousand to 150 thousand. Weekly active users grew steadily from around 570 thousand to nearly 690 thousand.
TutoTOONS' game, Kiki & Fifi Pet Friends, also experienced growth. Revenue rose from 100 in late September to 300 by the year's end. Downloads peaked at 100 thousand in the last week of December, and the active user base expanded from 100 thousand to 160 thousand over the quarter.
Duddu - My Virtual Pet Dog by Bubadu displayed an upward revenue trend from 300 to nearly 500. Downloads saw a slight increase from 40 thousand to 60 thousand, while the weekly active users count grew from 180 thousand to over 220 thousand.
Lastly, puppy newborn babyshower Games by BabyMaria Games, an app with minimal revenue figures, showed a significant spike in downloads in mid-October at nearly 60 thousand, which then leveled out to 60 thousand by December. The weekly active users experienced a similar rise and fall, starting at around 20 thousand and peaking at nearly 50 thousand by the end of the quarter.
