Q4 2020 Performance of Top Navigation Apps in Europe

As we close the books on the fourth quarter of 2020, it's time to look at the performance of the top navigation and maps applications on the unified platform across Europe. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into the usage trends of these essential mobile tools.

Google Maps Go experienced a steady increase in downloads over the quarter, starting at 509K in the last week of September and reaching 474K by the end of December. Weekly active users showed a slight decrease from 65M in late September to around 60M by the year's end.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a small dip in downloads from 304K to 274K during the quarter, with active users fluctuating before ending with a slight increase to 14.5M in the final week of December.

Google Earth maintained a consistent download rate, hovering around the 200K mark throughout the quarter. Active users showed a positive trend, from 1.68M at the start of the quarter to 1.72M at the close.

GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation by AppStar Studios displayed a remarkable surge in downloads in December, jumping from 106K to 155K, and weekly active users peaked at 403K in the third week of December.

Lastly, Google Street View showed a mixed downloads trend starting at 54K and ending at 55K, while active users saw a steady increase from 111K to 109K by the end of the quarter.
