In the first quarter of 2021, the crime games category on Android saw significant player engagement in the United States. Sensor Tower's data offers us a peek into how the top five games performed during this period.
CASUAL AZUR GAMES' Hitmasters experienced a decrease in downloads from 138K in the last week of December to 43K by the end of March. Revenue showed a downward trend as well, starting at approximately $1.3K and dipping to just under $1K. Weekly active users followed a similar pattern, dropping from 557K to 250K.
AMANOTES PTE LTD' Clash Gang: Epic Beat Em also saw a decline in downloads, starting at 106K and falling to around 27K. The game's revenue was negligible, hence the focus is on user engagement, which also diminished from 119K active users to 49K in the analyzed timeframe.
With Johnny Trigger: Action Shooter by SayGames Ltd, downloads slightly decreased from 54K to 42K. Revenue started at around $6.3K and ended the quarter at about $4.9K. The game maintained a steady base of active users, ranging from 337K to 279K.
Phantix Games' The Grand Mafia showed resilience in revenue, starting strong at $300K and reaching a peak of $623K in mid-March before closing the quarter at $556K. Downloads began at 65K, with a slight decline to 29K. Active users started at 88K and saw a decrease, ending at around 53K.
Lastly, Manor Matters by Playrix had a notable spike in downloads in early February, jumping from 27K to an impressive 109K, but then followed a downward trend to 20K. Revenue showed an upward trajectory from $119K to $228K. Active users nearly doubled from 70K to 130K by the end of the quarter.
