European Android Users Keep Track of Their Meals with Popular Diet Apps in Q1 2021

The first quarter of 2021 saw a steady engagement in food and diet tracking applications across Europe on Android devices. Sensor Tower's latest insights reveal the top performers in this category, highlighting their downloads, revenue, and active users.

YAZIO Food & Calorie Counter, hailing from Germany, showed a strong start in January with revenues peaking at around $340K and downloads at approximately 300K. However, both metrics saw a downward trend towards the end of the quarter, with downloads dipping to about 80K and revenue to roughly $128K. Despite this, weekly active users remained robust, starting at around 1.9M and reaching over 2M users in late January, before settling at just above 2M by the end of March.

From the United States, MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter experienced a revenue high in early February at over $138K, with downloads reaching upwards of 83K. Active users surged to nearly 900K in early January and maintained a consistent base, ending the quarter with around 823K weekly users.

Sweden's Lifesum: Healthy Eating & Diet also saw its highest revenue in the first week of January at approximately $148K and downloads at over 130K. Weekly active users peaked in early January at just above 750K and concluded the quarter with a slight increase to roughly 691K.

The UK's Calorie Counter + showed a revenue increase from $40K in late December to about $61K at the end of March. Downloads saw a slight increase during the quarter, starting at around 14K and peaking at over 18K in late March. Active users showed a growth trend, starting at approximately 47K and reaching over 63K by the end of March.

Lastly, Germany's Fastic: Fasting & Food Tracker also displayed a revenue growth, starting the quarter at $65K and peaking at $90K in the first week of January. Downloads began at around 156K and saw a decrease to 35K by the end of March. Weekly active users showed a slight decline, starting at nearly 284K and ending the quarter at about 241K.
