As the first quarter of 2021 wrapped up, the Hack and Slash genre on Android in France showcased interesting trends. Sensor Tower provides us with the data to evaluate the performance of these engaging titles.
Ronin: The Last Samurai witnessed a significant surge in its revenue, starting at $23K in the last week of December 2020 and peaking at over $6M in mid-February before it began to decline, settling at around $2.6M by the end of March. Downloads followed a similar trajectory, skyrocketing from 1.25K in the first week of January to a high of over 16K downloads in early February, then gradually decreasing to just under 2.4K by the end of March. Weekly active users mirrored this pattern, growing from 746 to a high of over 20K before dropping to just over 10K.
Honkai Impact 3rd - Part 2 had a more volatile revenue journey, with a notable spike to nearly $29.2M in late January, and another peak reaching over $41M in March. Downloads for this title remained relatively stable, with a small peak of 4.7K in mid-February. Weekly active users remained robust, peaking at over 30K in late January and early February, before ending the quarter with over 22K active users.
Darkness Rises showed a modest revenue pattern with a peak of over $2.7K in early February, followed by a decline to just under $1.9K by the end of March. Downloads decreased over the quarter, starting at around 2K and ending at 430. Weekly active users started at over 12K, saw a slight increase in mid-January, and then a steady decline to just over 7.3K by the end of March.
Demon Blade - Japan Action RPG experienced a modest revenue peak of $477 in early March, with other weeks fluctuating around the $200-$400 mark. Downloads began at 1.1K in January, dipped to 597 in late January, and saw an increase to 844 by the end of March. Weekly active users showed a slight upward trend from just over 1K to 806 in the same period.
Lastly, Shadow Knight: Ninja Game RPG revenue had a peak in early March at $146, with most other weeks hovering around the $30-$60 range. Downloads remained relatively consistent, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter. Weekly active users saw a slight increase from 1.2K at the end of December to over 1.4K in early March, followed by a slight decrease to 1.1K by the end of March.
