In the first quarter of 2021, the waifu gaming category has seen considerable activity on the Android platform in the United States. Sensor Tower provides a detailed look at the performance of the top five games in this genre.
Azur Lane, published by Yostar Limited, showed fluctuating revenue throughout Q1, peaking at around $341K in early March, with a downward trend towards the end of the month at approximately $124K. The game's downloads remained relatively stable, with a notable peak of around 4.5K in early February. Weekly active users started strong at 59K but saw a gradual decrease to approximately 56K by the end of the quarter.
Honkai Impact 3rd - Part 2, from miHoYo Limited, experienced its highest revenue in mid-March, reaching nearly $478K, and ended the quarter with around $138K. The game's downloads saw a significant spike in late January at nearly 14K, but tapered off to about 4.9K by late March. The weekly active user count was the highest in late January at 87K, before declining to around 66K by the quarter's end.
Princess Connect! Re: Dive by Crunchyroll Games, LLC, which launched in January 2021, saw a sharp revenue increase upon release, hitting over $400K, but then experienced a decrease to about $61K by the end of March. The game's downloads similarly spiked at launch with over 100K, before settling to around 5.2K. Active users numbered around 46K in the week of its release but dropped to approximately 27K by the end of March.
Illusion Connect, from Superprism Technology Co., Ltd, had a revenue peak of around $94K at the start of March and ended the quarter at about $56K. Download numbers showed a decline from 3.3K in the first week of January to roughly 1.5K by the end of March. Active users saw a slight increase from 28K to 29K in mid-March before decreasing to 28K.
Idle Angels: Goddess' Warfare by Neorigin Games Global observed its revenue peak in mid-March at approximately $75K, with a slight decrease to around $61K by the end of March. Downloads showed a decline from 4.5K in late December to about 2.2K in late March. The game's weekly active users peaked at 9K in late January, with a gradual decrease to roughly 7.1K by the end of the quarter.
