The first quarter of 2021 has seen significant activity in the wellness app category on the Android platform in the United States. Sensor Tower provides a comprehensive look at the performance of the top 5 wellness apps during this period.
Calm - Sleep, Meditate, Relax demonstrated a strong start in the quarter with a peak in revenue of approximately $240K in the second week of January. Downloads reached a high of 100K in the third week of January, while weekly active users saw a peak of 658K in the first week of January before gradually declining to 555K by the end of March.
For Headspace: Sleep & Meditation, revenue trends peaked at roughly $172K in the third week of January, with downloads hitting their highest at 71K in the first week of January. The app's weekly active users started strong at 462K in the first week of January but saw a decrease to 400K by the end of the quarter.
The Fabulous Daily Routine Planner experienced its highest revenue at approximately $74K in the first week of February. Downloads for the app were at their most robust in the third week of January with 29K, and the weekly active users showed an upward trend, reaching 122K in the third week of March.
Waking Up: Beyond Meditation saw a revenue peak of around $44K in the first week of January, with downloads reaching 8.8K in the last week of December. The app's weekly active users trended upwards, finishing the quarter with 23.8K in the last week of March.
Lastly, Avrora - Sleep Booster saw its revenue peak at roughly $31K in the middle of March. The app's downloads saw a high of 25K in the last week of December, with weekly active users experiencing a significant increase to 164K in the second week of March before decreasing to 133K by the end of March.
