As the first quarter of 2021 has wrapped up, we've taken a look at the performance of the top word puzzle games on the Android platform in Europe. Data provided by Sensor Tower gives us a glimpse into the trends of these brain-teasing favorites.
Wordscapes by PeopleFun showed a decrease in revenue from $39K in the first week of January to $28K by the end of March. Downloads also followed a downward trend, starting at 131K and dipping to 65K. However, weekly active users picked up towards the end of the quarter, rising from 395K in early March to 450K.
Scopely's Scrabble® GO-Classic Word Game experienced fluctuations in revenue, peaking at $27K mid-March before settling at $26K. The game saw a notable spike in downloads during February with 78K, then a drop to 51K by the end of March. The weekly active users showed an overall increase, starting at 569K in March and climbing to 561K.
MAG Interactive's Wordzee! - Social Word Game observed a decrease in revenue, from $21K at the end of December to $20K by March's end. Downloads decreased from 16K to 8K, while weekly active users saw a slight decline from 83K to 83K in the same period.
Zynga's Words With Friends 2 Word Game showed a modest revenue trend, from $12K to $11K. Downloads saw a decline from 35K to 15K, and weekly active users slightly decreased from 137K at the start of March to 133K by the quarter's end.
Fugo Games' Words of Wonders: Crossword had a stable revenue, maintaining around $10K throughout the quarter. Downloads saw a decrease from 461K to 355K, but the game maintained a strong user base with weekly active users growing from 3.79M to 4.02M in March, indicating a strong retention rate.
