In the first quarter of 2021, the Lifestyle category on the iOS platform saw significant activity among its leading apps in Australia. Data from Sensor Tower provides a snapshot of how these apps performed in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.
Tinder: Chat, Dating & Friends maintained its popularity with a consistent uptrend in revenue, peaking at approximately $685K in late January. While downloads showed a slight decline from around 12K to 10K over the quarter, weekly active users fluctuated, reaching a high of over 920K in early March.
Bumble: Dating & Friends App also enjoyed a healthy revenue trend, with earnings hovering around the $190K mark throughout the quarter. The app's downloads dipped from approximately 7.5K to 5K, but weekly active users saw a gradual increase, ending the quarter with over 200K.
Hinge Dating App: Match & Date showed a mixed revenue trend, starting and ending the quarter at around $63K and $69K, respectively. Downloads saw a slight decrease from nearly 6K to 5.7K, but the app's weekly active users grew, reaching over 132K by late March.
For eharmony: dating & real love, the revenue trend was somewhat volatile, with a notable dip to $15K mid-quarter before recovering to around $18K. Downloads remained under 1.2K, and weekly active users showed a slight decline, ending the quarter at around 5.9K.
Lastly, yoomee: Dating & Meet People experienced fluctuations in revenue, with a notable drop to $11K in early March. Downloads started at 666 and grew to 583 by the end of the quarter, while weekly active users increased from 1.9K to just under 2K.
