In the first quarter of 2021, the wellness app category saw significant engagement on the iOS platform in Brazil. Sensor Tower's data provides a detailed look at the top players in the market, focusing on downloads and weekly active users.
Meditopia: AI, Meditation experienced a peak in downloads, reaching 24K in the third week of January, followed by a gradual decline to 12K by the end of March. Weekly active users showed an upward trend in the first half of the quarter, with a high of 119K, before slightly dipping to 110K towards the quarter's end.
Calm also had a strong start in Q1 with downloads surging to 28K in the third week of February. However, this figure slightly decreased to 18K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, with a slight decrease from 89K in the first week of January to around 73K by March's close.
Headspace: Sleep & Meditation saw modest download numbers, which spiked at 2.2K in the second week of January but later settled to 1.9K by the end of March. Its weekly active users hovered around 7.8K in January, with a minor fall to 6.9K by the end of the quarter.
Zen: Guided Meditation & Sleep had its highest download count in the second week of March at 2.9K, with a subsequent decline to 1.9K by quarter's end. Weekly active users showcased growth in the first two months, peaking at 5.9K in mid-March, before a drop to 4.8K.
Meditation: Mindfulness & Calm witnessed a download peak of 3K in the first week of January, which then decreased to 650 by the end of March. The app's weekly active users saw a decrease from 17K at the beginning of January to 11.9K by the quarter's end.
