The first quarter of 2021 has seen a mix of performances among the top auto applications in the United Kingdom. Here's a brief look at the trends for each of the leading apps based on data from Sensor Tower.
AutoTrader experienced a steady trend in downloads, starting at 23K and peaking at 27K in mid-February before stabilizing around 26K. Weekly active users remained robust, with figures hovering between 250K and 260K throughout the quarter. Revenue showed fluctuations, with a high of $139K in late February and lows around $70K towards the end of March.
The Shell app witnessed a significant increase in downloads early in the quarter, peaking at 25K in late January, but saw a decline to just under 8K by the end of March. Its weekly active users started at 128K and reached a high of 150K in mid-January, before a gradual decline to around 122K by the quarter's end.
BPme displayed growth in downloads in the early weeks, peaking at 5K, but then experienced a dip to around 4K towards March. Weekly active users showed modest variations, ranging from 25K to 27K, with a slight increase in late March.
Vehicle Smart saw consistent download numbers, maintaining around 4K throughout the quarter. Revenue trends for this app were more volatile, with a significant peak at $8.6K in late February and another rise to $8.7K in late March. Active users remained steady, with a slight increase from 14K to around 15K.
PetrolPrices.com's downloads were generally stable, with a notable spike to 14K in mid-March. Weekly active users had a significant jump in the same period, doubling from 11K to 23K, before decreasing to around 14K by the end of March.
