The first quarter of 2021 has been eventful for basketball game apps in the United States. Sensor Tower's data gives us a glimpse into how these games have fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Below is a summary of the performance of the top five basketball games on the unified platform.
NBA 2K Mobile Basketball Game by 2K experienced a fluctuating trend in revenue, peaking at approximately $235K in early February, with weekly active users reaching a high of around 332K in the same period. Downloads saw a peak of over 90K in late December, followed by a general declining trend.
Electronic Arts' NBA LIVE Mobile Basketball showed a revenue high of $181K at the end of December, with weekly active users reaching an impressive peak of nearly 1.8M in mid-January. Downloads for the game remained relatively consistent, with a peak of over 56K in late December.
The UK-based MASOMO LIMITED's Basketball Arena - Sports Game saw a significant spike in revenue to nearly $244K in early March. The game's downloads skyrocketed to over 500K during the same period, while weekly active users also peaked at around 923K.
NBA SuperCard Basketball Game, also by 2K, had its highest revenue at nearly $45K in mid-March. The game experienced a modest number of downloads, peaking at just over 15K towards the end of December, and saw weekly active users peak at around 20K in early January.
Lastly, NBA 2K20 by 2K showed a revenue peak at over $38K at the end of December, with weekly active users reaching approximately 47K. The game's downloads peaked at over 8K in the same period, declining thereafter.
