The first quarter of 2021 has been an active period for the beauty retail applications in Europe. Data from Sensor Tower provides a glimpse into the performance of the top apps in this category on a unified platform.
SEPHORA - Maquillage, Parfum showed a fluctuation in downloads, starting the quarter with around 54K downloads in the last week of December and peaking at approximately 59K in the second week of February. Weekly active users saw a rise from 249K in the last week of December to a peak of 271K in the third week of January, before stabilizing around 259K by the end of March.
LOOKFANTASTIC: Beauty & Makeup experienced a steady start with around 28K downloads in the last week of December, reaching a high of 37K in the last week of January. The app's weekly active users began at 176K and saw a peak of 187K in the second week of February, eventually decreasing to roughly 170K by the end of the quarter.
Douglas - Parfüm & Kosmetik observed a significant increase in downloads, from approximately 44K in the last week of December to over 58K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users also saw a healthy growth, climbing from around 203K to 241K during the same period.
BEAUTY BAY had a more variable download trend, starting at 21K and dipping to around 13K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users mirrored this pattern, with a starting point of 111K, reaching a high of 116K in early March, and then falling to 100K by the quarter's end.
Superdrug maintained a relatively steady download rate, beginning with nearly 15K and ending the quarter at over 13K. The weekly active users showed a slight increase from 42K to 40K over the three months.
