In the first quarter of 2021, the dating app scene in the United States witnessed varied performance across the top contenders, with data sourced from Sensor Tower providing a clear view of their respective trajectories.
Tinder: Chat, Dating & Friends maintained a strong presence, with revenue fluctuating around the $5M to $6M mark weekly. Downloads showed a slight downward trend from 237K at the end of December to 201K by the end of March, while weekly active users dipped from 8.7M to 8.5M in the same period.
Bumble: Dating & Friends App saw its revenue hover between $2.4M and $2.8M weekly, with a peak towards the end of February. The app's downloads decreased from 153K to 113K, and weekly active users saw an increase in mid-February to over 4.1M, before settling back to 3.9M by the end of March.
Yubo: Make new friends experienced revenue figures around the $450K to $500K range weekly, with a notable increase in mid-March. Downloads for Yubo showed a decline from 168K to 86K, and weekly active users peaked at around 1.4M in mid-February and late March.
Plenty of Fish Dating App generated revenue with a growing trend, rising from $820K to over $1.1M in mid-March. Downloads were relatively stable, with a slight drop from 131K to 89K, and weekly active users showcased a slight decrease from 1.3M to 1.1M.
Hinge Dating App: Match & Date displayed a steady revenue pattern, with numbers staying between around $1.2M and $1.4M throughout the quarter. The app's downloads saw a decline from 115K to 78K, while weekly active users had a high point of close to 2.9M in late February, ending the quarter at around 2.7M.
