The insurance app market in the United Kingdom has shown varied performance across the board in the first quarter of 2021. Sensor Tower provides an insight into how these apps have fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
Hastings Direct Insurance experienced a significant spike in both downloads and weekly active users, with downloads peaking at around 27K in late March. Weekly active users showed a similar pattern, reaching a height of approximately 46K in the same period.
For Cuvva, downloads began at just under 10K at the end of December but saw a gradual decrease, stabilizing at around 7K towards the end of March. Active users followed a downward trend, starting at roughly 22K and dipping to about 18K by the end of the quarter.
Admiral Insurance downloads fluctuated, with an initial dip in January, a rise in mid-February, and another peak at over 8K in the last week of March. Weekly active users saw an overall increase from approximately 26K at the start of the quarter to over 31K at its close.
MyAviva began the quarter with downloads around 6K, which saw a slight increase in early January but ultimately dropped to just over 4K by the end of March. The app's active user base started at roughly 13K, peaked at around 15K in mid-February, and then decreased to just over 13K by the end of the quarter.
Zego Delivery, on the other hand, saw downloads decrease from nearly 5K at the end of December to around 3.5K by March's end. The trend for weekly active users was not provided.
