In the first quarter of 2021, the MMORPG category saw varied performances among the top applications in Europe. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, presents a mixed bag of trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.
Pasha Fencer, despite a decrease in weekly revenue from $300K to $75K, maintained a steady base of weekly active users, starting with 177K and ending the quarter with around 32K. Downloads showed a declining trend from 123K to 16K.
Stella Arcana experienced an initial spike in revenue, reaching $150K in the second week of January, before stabilizing around $100K towards the end of March. Downloads peaked at 161K following its January release and gradually decreased to 17K. The weekly active users count started strong at 81K, but saw a decrease to around 26K by the end of March.
The newly released Blade&Soul: Revolution showed promising initial figures with revenue peaking at $220K in its second week and downloads hitting 199K. However, both metrics showed a sharp decline towards the end of March, with revenue around $109K and downloads at 4K. Weekly active users also dropped from 159K to 14K.
Black Desert Mobile displayed more stability in revenue, maintaining around $160K to $190K through February, and concluding the quarter at around $105K. Downloads saw a peak of 51K in mid-February, while active users exhibited a peak of 250K before ending the quarter with 178K.
Lastly, Dino Tamers - Jurassic MMO showed modest revenue throughout the quarter, starting at $2.7K and ending at around $2.5K. Downloads remained fairly consistent, ranging from 46K to 20K. Weekly active users started at 47K and slightly declined to 26K.
