As the first quarter of 2021 has wrapped up, we at Sensor Tower have taken a close look at the performance of the top personal finance budgeting and planning applications in France. The insights below detail how these apps have fared on a unified platform, combining data from both iOS and Android.
Paylib, le paiement mobile started the quarter with around 31K downloads and ended on a high note with over 26K, despite a mid-quarter dip. Weekly active users showed a similar pattern, initially at approximately 44K, dipping in the middle of the quarter, and then rising to nearly 40K by the end of March.
Bankin' showed a strong start in downloads with over 27K in the first week of January, but it saw a gradual decline to around 14K by the end of March. Revenue for Bankin' fluctuated throughout the quarter, peaking at over 20K USD in the first week of February. The app's weekly active users remained robust, starting at around 359K and peaking at over 361K, though it saw a slight decrease to around 322K by quarter's end.
For Tricount - Split group bills, the quarter began with an impressive 42K downloads, but this figure gradually declined to just under 9K by the end of March. The app's revenue saw ups and downs, with the highest at over 700 USD in the third week of February. Weekly active users followed a similar downward trend, starting at around 137K and ending the quarter with approximately 78K.
Budget planner—Expense tracker had modest download numbers, beginning the quarter with around 3K and decreasing to just over 1K by the end of March. Revenue for the app showed some variability but remained under 500 USD throughout the quarter. Weekly active users saw a peak of over 14K in early February, followed by a gradual decline to around 12K by the quarter's close.
Lastly, Money manager & expenses experienced a steady increase in downloads from approximately 1K in the last week of December to over 1K by the end of March. The app did not generate revenue but saw its weekly active users grow from around 3K to over 6K throughout the quarter, showing a strong upward trend in user engagement.
