The first quarter of 2021 showed some interesting trends for the top shopping applications in Europe. Here's a glimpse into how these apps performed, with data sourced from Sensor Tower.
SHEIN - Shopping Online experienced a steady increase in downloads, starting the quarter with approximately 693K and peaking at around 1.16M in mid-March. The weekly active users saw an upward trend as well, beginning at 9.17M and reaching over 18M by the end of March.
The AliExpress Shopping App also saw growth, with downloads initially at 778K and rising to just under 1M by late March. The app's active users showed an impressive climb from approximately 29.6M to over 36M during the same period.
Moving on to Vinted: Sell vintage clothes, the app's downloads had a high at the start of January with over 1M, but fluctuated throughout the quarter, ending March with around 933K. The app's active users experienced a steady increase from 6.66M to 8.62M.
Amazon had a strong start with downloads exceeding 1M in the first week of January, but saw a gradual decline to just under 600K by the end of March. The weekly active users decreased slightly, starting at over 30M and dipping to around 29M by the quarter's close.
Lastly, Wish: Shop and Save began with approximately 726K downloads and peaked at 847K in mid-January, before dropping to around 552K at the end of March. The app's active users mirrored this pattern, starting at 13.27M and decreasing to 11.03M.
