In the first quarter of 2021, Latin America's mobile gaming scene saw considerable activity in the Simulation/Adventure category. Data from Sensor Tower showcases the performance of the top five games in this genre, and here's a snapshot of their metrics.
PK XD: Fun, friends & games from Afterverse Games started the quarter with approximately 600K downloads and concluded with over 600K, maintaining a robust trend. Revenue peaked in mid-March at around $94K, while weekly active users (WAUs) saw a high of 6.3M in the same month.
Z & K Games' Scary Teacher 3D experienced a downloads count starting at 179K and ending the quarter with 166K. The game's revenue showed a slight peak in early March at $745, and WAUs were highest at 1.07M in mid-February.
The fashion-themed Hollywood Story®: Fashion Star by NANOBIT saw a significant spike in downloads in early February, reaching over 260K before settling to around 43K by the end of March. Revenue trends were more modest, with a peak at $22K. The WAUs showed a high of 911K in early March, indicating a strong player base.
Jam City, Inc.'s Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery maintained a steady downloads count, beginning at 75K and ending at around 50K. The game's revenue saw a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching $22K. WAUs were highest at 627K in mid-February.
Lastly, Scary Stranger 3D, another title from Z & K Games, showed an impressive jump in downloads in mid-March with around 94K, though it started and ended the quarter at roughly 50K. With revenue being negligible, the focus remains on the downloads and WAUs, which peaked at 274K in late March.
