As the first quarter of 2021 has come to a close, Sensor Tower offers an insightful look into the performance of the top word puzzle games in the United Kingdom. These apps have seen different trends in terms of downloads and weekly active users, providing a snapshot of the word puzzle category's dynamics.
Starting with Wordscapes by PeopleFun, Inc., the title experienced a decline in downloads from 71K in the last week of December 2020 to 58K in the last week of March 2021. Revenue showed a decreasing trend from 55K USD to 47K USD in the same period, while weekly active users dropped from 399K to 358K.
Word Collect Word Puzzle Games by Super Lucky Games LLC also saw a decrease in downloads, from 43K to 23K, and a slight fluctuation in revenue, ending the quarter at 16K USD. Weekly active users, however, experienced a noticeable dip from 181K to 146K.
Published by PlaySimple Games Pte Ltd, Daily Themed Crossword Puzzles showed a significant decrease in downloads, starting at 77K and falling to 7K. Revenue followed a similar downward trend, with a decline from 36K USD to 11K USD, and weekly active users decreased from 151K to 67K.
YEW TECHNOLOGY LIMITED's Word Crush - Fun Puzzle Game also experienced a decline in downloads, from 30K to 12K, and a drop in revenue from 15K USD to 9K USD. Weekly active users saw a decrease from 89K to 80K throughout the quarter.
Lastly, Scrabble® GO - New Word Game by Scopely, Inc. witnessed a downward trend in downloads from 34K to 12K and a reduction in revenue from 31K USD to 26K USD. Weekly active users showed a slight decline from 237K to 209K.
