In the second quarter of 2021, several investing and financial management apps on the Android platform in Africa showed notable trends in weekly downloads and active user numbers, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a look at the top five apps:

Trust: Crypto & Bitcoin Wallet by DApps Platform, Inc. saw a fluctuating pattern in weekly downloads, peaking at around 116K in mid-April and then experiencing a decline towards the end of June with approximately 37K downloads. The app maintained a strong presence with weekly active users, rising from 340K at the start of the quarter to a peak of over 931K in early May, before settling at around 650K by the end of June.

Binance: Buy Bitcoin & Crypto from Binance Inc. also exhibited varied download trends, starting at 62.5K in late March and dropping to around 26K by the end of June. The app's weekly active users grew from approximately 303K in March to a high of 533K in early May, before gradually decreasing to about 393K.

Octa trading app by Octa Markets Inc. experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting at 44.7K and ending at 20.8K. Similarly, the app's active users dropped from 104K to around 74K by the end of the quarter.

Luno: Buy Bitcoin & Crypto, developed by Luno, showed a consistent decrease in downloads from 32.3K at the quarter's start to around 24.9K by late June. Active users started at 570K, peaking at 675K in mid-April, and then decreased to approximately 366K by the end of June.

Lastly, the IQ Option – Trading Platform saw a relatively stable download rate with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching about 29.7K. Active users remained fairly consistent, fluctuating between 164K and 187K throughout the period.
