In the second quarter of 2021, the Maps and Navigation category on the Android platform in Norway showcased intriguing trends among the top five applications. According to Sensor Tower data, these apps demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active user engagement.
Skippo Norway from Skippo Boatlife saw a significant surge in both weekly downloads and revenue. Downloads rose steadily, starting at 294 in late March and reaching approximately 1.4K by the end of June. Revenue mirrored this upward trajectory, peaking at about $6.2K in the final week of the quarter.
Navionics® Boating, published by Garmin Italy Technologies, showed consistent growth in revenue, culminating in around $4.6K in the last week of June. Weekly downloads also increased, reaching 301, while active users grew from 182 to 429 over the quarter.
Norgeskart Outdoors by Ture Apps AS experienced fluctuations in its metrics. Revenue varied throughout the quarter, closing at approximately $2.3K. Downloads were generally stable, ending the period at 758.
C-MAP Boating, developed by Navico Norway AS, saw a notable increase in revenue, particularly in June, with a peak of roughly $2.3K. Downloads remained relatively stable, with minor fluctuations, and active users showed a slight increase, ending at 104.
Finally, MarineTraffic - Ship Tracking from MarineTraffic Applications maintained a steady performance across all metrics. Weekly downloads fluctuated, peaking at 1.9K in early April and settling at 1K by the end of June. Revenue remained consistent, closing at $407, while active users increased from 2.4K to 2.7K throughout the quarter.
